T/n: I started this project as a hyperfixation. And unfortunately the hyperfixation is now gone. I’ve always wanted to go back and edit and fix the mistakes, however I can’t bring myself to go back into translations anymore. Take these translations with a healthy grain of salt. Hopefully I’ll get fixated on translations and danmei sometime in the future so I can redo this. Dec. 2022

Qiao Chen had been living on the island for a few days now and thought that everything wasn’t half bad. He had a relaxing and quiet time here and had nearly everything he wanted… As for Aunan’s engagement to another woman… well Qiao Chen believed that what the eye doesn’t see, the heart doesn’t grieve over. He didn’t bother looking for Aunan nor did he want to fight over Aunan with some stranger either. Qiao Chen believed that those sorts of things weren’t very fun or interesting. Living several lifetimes of those dog blood dramas tired him out. All he wanted to do now was live peacefully.
Qiao Chen stretched out on the sun lounger on the beach. The sea beside him gently crashed a few waves to the shore. On the other side of Qiao Chen was a table with a glass of juice and various fruits. Sun bathing was quite the relaxing experience. Qiao Chen hired five people to assist him on the island. Two of them patrolled his property on the island to keep it safe. The other three did the housework and the cleaning. Qiao Chen didn’t bother to cook anymore either. He just had those ready-made meals every day.
Qiao Chen’s eyes were closed as he absorbed the sun’s rays. It was a bright and sunny day today. The breeze was gentle as it brushed against his hair. Suddenly, Qiao Chen perceived a large shadow that was blocking out the sun. ‘There shouldn’t be any clouds today.’ Qiao Chen opened his eyes to see what was going on and was startled. He initially thought that he had seen incorrectly, but when he focused his vision at that thing in the sky… he was shocked.
There was a massive spaceship in the air. It slowly approached his island. Qiao Chen could tell that this ship was a military spacecraft by the size alone. Those things were over ten times larger than this little island. Qiao Chen was worried that if that thing landed, then the little island would sink to the bottom of the ocean.
The spacecraft reached the island and began its descent. Luckily, the ship landed on the ocean instead of directly on the island.
Qiao Chen was confused. ‘Why would a military ship come over here? Did they find out about the system and come chase for me? Hmm, but isn’t it a bit over kill to send such a big ship for something like a system on one person?’
Qiao Chen wasn’t afraid that they would take him back to the base. He only felt like it was a bit of a waste. He was only able to stay on this island for a few days. Furthermore, he spent a lot of his money to buy this island home too, but it hadn’t even been a month yet.
A smaller airship exited the military ship and landed on the beach. Qiao Chen was a little surprised to see the person who exited the airship was. Aunan stood at the beach in an ironed white shirt and black military pants. He had an imposing and solid figure. His face looked like he’d been carved from beauty. His aura exuded the majesty befitting a king. Aunan was currently looking at Qiao Chen with dark, deep, and icy stare.
Qiao Chen was dressed in beach shorts and a t-shirt. He felt a small spark of hope when he saw how long Aunan had been staring at him. However, once Qiao Chen took a single look at Aunan’s cold eyes, that spark fizzled out. ‘Too cold.’
Aunan hadn’t moved from his spot, so Qiao Chen had no choice but to meet with his visitor. Qiao Chen walked up and asked, “Excuse me…”
“You’re fast at running.” Aunan interrupted.
Qiao Chen replied with a doubtful look.
“If I didn’t come to find you, then were you planning on living on this small, broken island for the rest of your life?”
“What do you mean broken little island?” Qiao Chen replied unhappily. “This was the place that I very carefully chose, alright? What on my island is broken?”
“Then why did you run away for?” Aunan asked. His eyes had softened and the cold glint in his eyes had disappeared.
“Uh, I…” Qiao Chen trailed off. He didn’t know how to answer because he didn’t know if Aunan recalled any of their past memories together. Furthermore, Qiao Chen wasn’t sure why Aunan was interrogating him right now either.
“I’m only a few days late to looking for you, but you just up and disappeared. I couldn’t even find your shadow.” Aunan complained unhappily.
“Why were you looking for me?” Qiao Chen asked.
“What are you talking about?” Aunan lifted Qiao Chen’s chin. He waited until they were faced to face before continuing, “Why else would I look for you if it wasn’t to make you take responsibility?”
“Re- responsibility? Responsibility for what?” Qiao Chen asked with uncertainty.
“You’re not planning on taking responsibility for seducing me for several lifetimes now?” Aunan said with dissatisfaction.
“….” Qiao Chen was rendered speechless. How can someone regarded as a strict and respectable genius be able to seriously say such shameless words?
Aunan tightly embraced Qiao Chen. Qiao Chen was still in shock and let Aunan hug him. ‘Then… does that mean you remember it all?’ Qiao Chen’s heart filled with hope and expectation again. They stayed in each other’s embrace on the beachside for a while, before Qiao Chen finally brought Aunan back to his house in the middle of the island.
Qiao Chen asked nervously, “Do you remember everything? Everything from before I mean?”
“I don’t remember.” Aunan replied nonchalantly. He turned to look at Qiao Chen once he finished pouring a glass of water and saw Qiao Chen’s face break into disappointment. Then he continued, “I’m lying.”
Qiao Chen was starting to get upset. “If you really don’t remember then don’t come here and provoke me.”
Aunan slipped over to Qiao Chen’s side and gathered him into his embrace. “If you don’t believe that I do, then why don’t you ask me a few questions that I would only know if I did remember? For example, you could ask me what the most sensitive part of your body is. You could even ask me what your favorite position is or what position you dislike the most. Go ahead and ask. You’ll be able too see if I can answer correctly or not.”
“…” Qiao Chen was once again stunned into silence. Seeing a serious person act like such a pervert was a terrible sight to see. Qiao Chen forced the topic to change by asking, “Then did you really want to get engaged with the prime minister’s daughter?”
“It was a play that they wrote and directed. I never promised them anything. They did a lot of things while I was in that coma. They ‘leaked the news’ that I was engaged and then tried to force me to submit. I couldn’t find you right away because I was busy dealing with them.”
“Then have you taken care of everything?”
“Just about.” Aunan replied. He gave Qiao Chen a gentle kiss on the cheek and said, “Come back to the capital planet with me.”
Qiao Chen was silent. He had long been fed up with the life of being schemed against or scheming against others. Living through several lifetimes of things really put a damper on his expectations for life on the capital with Aunan.
“I know that you like to live in quiet and secluded areas where you can peacefully watch the sun rise and set each day. I know you want to live a life of leisure and relaxation, but I can’t leave the capital for a while right now. I can’t just quit that suddenly, but I can promise you that I will finish everything as quickly as possible. That way, we can live that life of leisure together. We’ll be able to happily grow old together as soon as possible.” Aunan affectionately promised.
“…. All right then.” Qiao Chen leaned on to Aunan’s shoulder and quietly agreed.
Qiao Chen was in a good mood that afternoon, so he cooked a few of Aunan’s favorite foods. The two had been in love with each other for countless years now, so they were able to get along with one another very naturally. There wasn’t any awkwardness between the two even though this was technically the first time in this lifetime that that two had actually met. Of course, this also meant that they immediately went into old couple mode as they enjoyed each other’s company.
Later that evening, Qiao Chen was completely pressed under Aunan’s body. Aunan rained kisses and caresses down on Qiao Chen’s body. Aunan alternated his pace from deep hard thrusts and shallow gentle one after he entered Qiao Chen and drove Qiao Chen mad. Aunan finally let Qiao Chen rest once Qiao Chen lost voice from crying out so much.
Aunan kept Qiao Chen within his embrace as he gently caressed Qiao Chen’s back. “Is the system still in your head?”
Qiao Chen looked up at Aunan and asked, “You know?”
“En.”
“… Did you want to remove it?”Qiao Chen asked somewhat hesitantly.
“Why? Did you want to get rid of it?” Aunan laughed. “It shouldn’t negatively affect your body anyways, so let’s just leave it.”
“Oh.” Qiao Chen relaxed back into Aunan’s embrace. Then he snuggled his face onto Aunan’s chest.
“You were the one who had to keep finding me for so many lifetimes now. How about you let me find you instead starting the next life?” Aunan mused softly.
“Really?” Qiao Chen immediately looked back up at Aunan’s face.
“Really.” Aunan gently promised as he looked into Qiao Chen’s eyes.
“Then you have to keep your promise. I’ll be waiting for you in the next life.” Qiao Chen’s tone was filled with expectation as he wrapped his arms around Aunan’s neck.
“Yeah.” Aunan smiled as he replied.
Qiao Chen knew that they probably wouldn’t be able to return to this little island in the future. He knew that they would probably move to a large island with a guard every ten feet after Aunan retired. With this in mind, Qiao Chen asked Aunan to accompany him for a few more days on his little island.
Even though Aunan didn’t really like this tiny, little island, he did his best to satisfy Qiao Chen’s requests to the best of his abilities. They walked hand in hand down the beach. They fished in the ocean together. They chased away other people from the island together. They made friends from around the various parts of the island together. They swam together. They hugged each other. Every single moment was a moment they shared together from daily chores to reminiscing memories of their past lives they shared….

Qiao Chen returned to the capital with Aunan. He knew that there were still many things that had to be done, but didn’t worry too much about it. These were all things he had dealt with before in his past lives. Qiao Chen believed that their lives would be best lives lived as long as the two stayed together. It didn’t matter if this life would come to an end in the future, because he knew there was always the next one, and the next one and the life after it and so on….
Aunan agreed that he would be the one who chased Qiao Chen starting their next lifetime. Aunan had always followed through with every single promise he’s made, so Qiao Chen was pleased to start their lives together over in their next lifetime.

To me, it felt like Qiao Chen was scared to face a reality where Aunan didn’t love him, so I think Qiao Chen chose to run away from his problems. He tried to go back to that emotionless apathetic state he was before falling in love because it was the safer option. His feelings wouldn’t get hurt because there wasn’t a direct rejection. Then he could just dream and reminisce about the love he had and keep those a precious memory untainted by a true rejection.

This makes much more sense to me, thank you for the explanation! Usually, Qiao Chen is confident when dealing with his enemies, so I wasn’t expecting that. I can now understand that because his lover is too close to his heart, and he’s afraid, Qiao Chen acted the opposite of his usual self and chose to run.

Ahhh i love these so much! Have you perhaps considered taking over some of the BL that jtranslations was translating? TO be more specific i mean “One Hundred Ways to Become a God”. After Jtranslations retired, the website was apparently deleted and all the chapters they translated are gone now. I also find myself missing “Every World Is Not Quite Right” but that one is a bit.. it’s got some toxic themes for sure that people would complain about. Merely suggestions! You can ignore me. My anxiety now makes me feel like i shouldn’t have written any of that.

Thank you for your hard work! While I’ll never approve of how forceful the ML in this was (typical of Chinese BL as it is), I did enjoy the story and the journey, and your translation remained solid and good throughout.
Sad to hear you caught the worldflu, both my sister and friend had it already and it seems to have made them permanently tired afterwards so pay attention to your body and any lingering after effects – especially your heart and any possible scarring to it (which means you have to be careful of heavy exercise because your heart rate will go unnaturally high from just regular walking and running). I hope you recover well and quickly!

Yeah that’s what I’m most curious about I thought it will be explain in later parts but it’s now the end. I thought it has connection in their previous life or they know each other but their memory Didn’t remember it and so after the transmigration mission of the mc they will reunited and remember it. It was the most plot hole of this series. In my opinion.

Oh God I’m crying Again, I finished another Novel I really liked, even if there are things that made me hate, made me confused, and and made me upset, I already liked this novel since the first arc.
